What am I even talking about I don’t give a single fuck! What I meant to say was:

What can Fashion do FOR ME?!?!?

There’s no denying that the past three years ave been rough, and at times I have cursed fashion, lived for weeks without clothes, and spent months in the desert as far away from the industry as possible.

And yet here I am, sewing away till my fingers bleed and catching clients at 3am because they’ve planned their lives poorly. I often think of just chucking in the towel.

Calling a gent in the middle of the night and saying ‘it’s just not my fault you got her pregnant on Thursday so now I need to make your wedding suit for Saturday, I have other things to occupy my time’.

I sometimes want to just fire Thabo and Antonio one time (they’re young they’ll find other jobs) and run naked into the bush.

But at these times all I really need to do is take a minute’s break from the sewing machine and look around me. There is always something beautiful to see.

There are always interesting people to meet, coming with their weddings and their graduations and there ‘I just want to be fabulous’.

I feel so blessed to be a part of all the excitement of so many peoples’ lives.

And of course there’s also the eternal struggle of making the business work.

There are schemes to be hatched, plots to be laid, gents to be disrobed. I absolutely love the challenge of finding a need and making a plan to contribute a service.

Though I suppose if I had to confess, I’d say I was just an addict for fashion plain and simple. There is basically nothing I wouldn’t do for the right handbag, sue me!
